Nigel and his Floating Sauna on Lake Derby.

I’ve got nothing but great things to say about Nigel + the entrepreneurial masterclass that is the Floating Sauna Lake Derby.
I was lucky enough to pick his brain about business and got some interesting views on risk and societal views around it.

I asked - whats move valuable to his success, a tertiary education or an entrepreneurial mindset. His reply being that it’s taken most of his working life to shake off the low risk philosophy his academic education (Architect) inadvertently instilled in him.

He further noted, there’s three possible outcomes when starting a new business.

1. The business thrives - great outcome.
2. The business tanks - as long as your life savings aren’t tied up in it, you can learn, adjust, and build again.
3. The business just ticks over barely scraping a profit or running at a slight loss - in his opinion the worst case scenario.

I thought this a unique take and one that promotes calculated risk.
